The Sheepdogs Take The Cover
The last time The Sheepdogs appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, they were one of 16 bands competing in the “Choose the Cover of Rolling Stone” contest presented by Garnier Fructis. Last night, the Canadian boogie rockers hit the stage as champions, with their faces on the cover of the latest issue of Rolling Stone and having just signed a contract with Atlantic Records. The boys from Saskatoon performed a confident yet mellow rendition of “I Don’t Know,” a cut from their self-released Five Easy Pieces EP
To see them live is pure rock and roll jubilation, to revel in the splendor created by 3 part vocal harmonies and heavy hitting dual guitar lead. Their signature is a beautiful blend of power and imagination, ranging from ferocious rockers to southern boogie and grooving psychedelia. Big guitars, stacked harmonies, vintage organ and piano skillfully color each of the tracks on Five Easy Pieces, proving that these boys are as dedicated to the craft of songwriting and album making as they are to playing a dynamite live show. The Sheepdogs are an old-school rock and roll revival.
They will be touring in the US this Fall, with their Five Easy Pieces EP out now on Atlantic and their debut record due out next year.
