British soul-singer Michael Kiwanuka is proud to announce the release of his newest EP, Home Again, via Cherrytree/Interscope Records, today January 3rd 2012. Following Michael’s introduction in 2011 with the Tell Me A Tale and I’m Getting Ready EPs through Communion Records, Home Again heralds another fine glimpse into this unique, British voice for 2012.
I don’t know. Art is art. I’m cool with that. And I’m a firm believer in stretching the limits. Give me something that will make me think a little, or force me to get out of the box and look at it from another angle. Not all art is for everybody. I can dig that. It’s a subjective thing, and sometimes very personal for the believer.
TV on the Radio have announced that Gerard Smith, the band’s bassist and keyboardist, has been diagnosed with lung cancer. He’s currently undergoing treatment, and he won’t join the band on their forthcoming run of dates.
The band writes, “Gerard is fortunate enough to have health insurance and is receiving excellent medical care. Already we have seen dramatic results. Combine that with Gerard’s legendarily willful disposition and it might just be cancer that has the problem. We appreciate your concern and support for Gerard and his family.”
